My Most Memorable Works

Acrylic on canvas

The vibrant blues, purples, pinks, oranges, and yellows in the sunset complemented each other beautifully and transferred their hue over to the water, reflecting a brilliant pink and orange light. Hovering over the ocean, the sailboats stood out with a contrasting navy blue, as well as the occasional mast peaking into the sky added a layer of asymmetry. I was enamored by how beautiful our world can be.

The Beauty of Masts and Sunsets

Acrylic, watercolor, rose petals on canvas

I created my expressive self-portrait that displays the visible and hidden aspects of myself. On the left canvas, is a face without hue, surface-level, above the gap. On the right canvas, is my hair, made of flower petals. The right canvas can be flipped 90 degrees counterclockwise to see a beautiful, growing flower. The rigid rectangle, differing from the flowing elements of the flower hair and face, an object that no one sees, represents the percentage that each canvas is seen. People see 90% of my left canvas while people only see 10% of my right canvas. It reveals the truth that no matter how close you are with someone, they will never truly see everything that’s on your right canvas. They will never truly know you.
